WordPress vs. Blogger
In this post, when I
mention “WordPress” I mean only WordPress.org not WordPress.com. It is important
to notice that there are some differences between wordpress.org and wordpress.com.
Blogger

You already have a Blogger account if you have a Gmail account.
#2 Hosting: Generally, your site doesn’t experience
down times as Blogger (blogspot) sites are hosted on Google servers.
#3
Reliable: Since blogger is owned and maintained by Google, it is unlikely to
be hacked by hackers. Google handles it very good.

opportunity to place ads and monetize your free site.

Google+. Blogger platform has an option to share posts to Google+
automatically.

to the new users.

Bloggers don’t always get the design they want. Most of the templates are not
attractive although some template designers convert WordPress templates for
Blogger.

WordPress.

unprofessional, for example, yourdomain.blogspot.com (sub-domain).

keeping your site up and getting regular traffic, you should purchase them from
reliable companies like Go Daddy, Namecheap, HostGator etc.
#2
Security Breach: WordPress sites are relatively easier to get hacked than
that of Blogger sites. Moreover, WordPress blogs tend to receive more spam
attacks than Blogger blogspot blogs.
#3
Customization: Though WordPress is extremely flexible and highly
customizable, you may need some coding knowledge to customize your site. This
customization can be difficult for beginners.
Which One Is Better
For You?
There are many minds
since there are many people. You have to be rational to select the right
blogging platform. Calculate your options and think about your budget, blog
knowledge, time etc. If you are a student like me or have a few budgets, I
suggest you to use Blogger with a custom domain.
If you have enough
money to manage your blog, then you are suggested to take WordPress as your
blogging platform. WordPress gives flexibility and freedom to the blog. If you
are businessman or you want more professionalism, you should choose WordPress.
However, you can transfer your Blogger blog to WordPress later, if you want
to.
i run my little blog of Wordpress.com, free hosting and seems to work fine for me. The only downside is that you can't monetize with the likes of ad sense etc..
